Hood Growers specializes in science-based landscaping and gardening, with a focus on drought-tolerant, edible, and/or native plants, trees, and shrubs for Big Bear Mountain landscapes.
Hood Growers’ mission is to grow Big Bear through science-based education and conscientious planting of resilient plant material to improve the quality of all life on our mountain for present and future generations. If it requires consistent amendments, is considered problematic to our environment especially by Forest Services (looking at you, Spanish Broom!), or does not grow on our mountain, we will not sell it for in-ground planting. We value the spirit of collaboration and community partnership throughout our local neighborhoods and businesses in continued support for a beautiful and flourishing environment and community.
Spring, Summer, & Fall 2021 Business Hours
Business hours are seasonal and dependent on the weather and temperature patterns of the Big Bear Mountains.
As of November 1, we are open by appointment only.
Appointments are easily scheduled by phone, text, or message via Facebook, or Instagram. Fall and early winter are a great time to plant! Take advantage of this season to get plants established in your garden.
